NEW Urban Teaching Farm
Out of the Garden Project grows fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs on three acres of land at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Greensboro, NC, to improve access to fresh foods and service learning opportunities in our community. Our desire is to reintroduce farming to young people so that they not only can grow their own food from their balcony but perhaps become farmers themselves.
Our aim is to build a sustainable nonprofit production farm that offers experiential learning opportunities as well as memberships to our “harvest box” program!
2019 HARVEST BOX
Memberships are suggested at a donation level of $500 for 24 weeks of produce per year ($80 per month). As a “harvest box” member you will receive:
- Weekly local and responsibly grown produce from April-October which includes 4-8 different kinds of vegetables (valued at $21),
- Invitations to monthly community dinners at the farm.
- An invite to our end of season Fall Harvest Day Celebration in October
Our Urban Teaching Farm is located 1 mile south of downtown Greensboro in the historic Warnersville neighborhood. As urban farmers, we will tend the soil, share its bounty and glean its history in an effort to both
